Oh my word, you totally crack me up. I will quit thinking that I am having a hard time adjusting to the cultural differences:). I got in trouble for the feet thing in Turkey, I was sitting "criss-cross applesauce" and showing the bottom of my feet, it must be an Asian thing. I can't stop laughing thinking of Jude and the booger. So funny.

You've landed in the exact opposite of NOLA! The garbage sorting / recycling sounds awful. Are there any other Gaijins in your immediate neighborhood? Maybe you could start putting your garbage in front of their house.

Truly awesome blog. Great writing, Shannon. More, please, arigato!

OMG!!! Too funny. Do they have a special recycle bin/bag for boogers? Sending my love to all of you. Aunt Linda has gotten attached to Petunia. You may have a problem getting her back. xxooxxoo BTW.... great blog Shannon. Very catchy title. Keep em' comming for us "southern families".

Oh, Shannon it took me a good 10 minutes to stop laughing after reading your adventures! Keep em coming!! Poor Abel (my boyfriend) just arrived in Yokosuka today (he'll be stationed at the Naval Hospital), and will soon be getting acclimated to the same craziness I'm sure!! Anders is so precious in that little hat! :)
